My Grandmother's funeral was yesterday. It was sunny, but the absolute temperature was -11F, with a wind chill around -30F, so the part at the cemetary itself was very short and to the point. The pastor did a very nice job with the service and I thought everything went very well.

My Mom is slowly improving. The doctor said that it took weeks for her to get to the position she's in, and it will take a long time to get her kidney function back to where it should be. But yesterday and today both showed slight improvement, so there's good confidence that she'll recover just fine.

My wife's Grandfather is doing very well. The surgery appears to have fixed the problem, as he can stand and walk around without dizziness now. He lost a lot of muscle from being forced to sit idle for weeks, but at least now he can move and be active again.

So, with all this generally positive news I'm off to speak at a conference in Sydney. I'll leave the bright sunny, but bitter cold, Minnesota for the late-summer climate down under for a few days. Hopefully things will continue to improve while I'm gone.
