An update on flood recovery that spun into a stream-of-consciousness discussion of the impact of the Internet on community – at least for me

This past week I was in Boston, speaking at a conference there. But I came in on Saturday and spent the weekend with my good friends Kevin and Brenda, and Wayne and Brent. Kevin and Brenda have a bed and breakfast (Taylor’s Corner) about an hour west of Boston, near Woodstock, CT. It is very nice, and it was great that I could stay there! W&B live north of Boston, and came out to the B&B to spend the weekend as well.

We played lots of games - Steve Jackson's Illuminati, both the US and European versions of Ticket To Ride, Evo and a card game called Rage. This card game is kind of like a highly randomized and vicious version of Hearts, and is very good if you need a fun, light and relatively quick game. The other games are all much longer and more involved – which makes them a whole lot of fun!

Well, life goes on. My Mom turns out to have cancer - possibly a relapse of some previous cancer, possibly something far worse.

...if this movement actually took off. Then Christianity could actually become a force for good in the world!
